The Hands of Makers

As the early rays rise above the horizon,
and the birds sing in their dozen,
The hands of makers start their day,
As the rest of the world is yawning awake,
before the pots of coffee are put next to cake,
The hands of makers make their way,
As the streets begin to fill and bustle,
And the workers start their daily hustle,
The hands of makers continue their play,
As others need to speak to explain,
the conversations begin to wax and wain,
The hands of makers don't need to say,
And when the day closes and comes to an end,
When everyone travels homeward wend,
The hands of makers stay.

A Note From the Artist:

If you are thinking of buying yourself or your loved ones a treat, please consider buying from a local artist. Not only will this help your local community but it will help the arts industry keep their head above water during difficult times. I am one of the lucky ones – being born and raised in an area that provided a school which specialised in arts and then being able to progress to a college which had a fantastic range of arts equipment – but not all are as lucky. The more people can purchase from their local artists, the more funding is going back into the arts industry to help a new generation of artists to emerge. Thank you, A x
